Is a BBL risky with Spina Bifida Occulta? (Photo)

Question

I noticed a sacral dimple recently. It has caused no issues and has been unremarkable so far. However, I am scheduled for a BBL in June. I was wondering if this procedure would mess anything up? Will my spinal cord be effected if I do happen to have Spina Bifida Occulta? Thank you

Hello, thank you for your question. I recommend that you discuss this through email Skype or in-person with a board certified plastic surgeon for proper evaluation. Spinal bifida comes in many forms; you do not want to run the risk of damaging nerves.

I don’t think you have spina bifida occulta.

To location of your dimple or pit is more consistent with a pilonidal cyst.

I don’t believe your spinal cord will be threatened by the procedure but you should discuss this with your plastic surgeon.
