BBL and Lipo procedures with antiphospholipid syndrome?

Question

I am looking to have a Bbl and lipo procedure done but I have antiphospholipid syndrome. I have had mine labs done and my prothrombin w/inr + partial thromboplastin times it came back 26 (normal). I am not on any medications only blood thinners while pregnant.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You might need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

In many ways the question should really be post to you.

Must plastic surgeons will ask you to get medical clearance from the hematologist.

That does not illuminate your risk of developing a venous or arterial blood clot during or after a procedure. The best doctor to discuss the risk is your hematologist not your plastic surgeon.

Even with normal lab tests having the condition puts you at increased risk for developing blood clots. Excessive use of blood thinners during an after surgery put patients at risk for potential bleeding.

Whether the risk is justified or not which is what we call a risk benefit analysis.  Needs to take the benefit into the equation which is subjective and based on how important this procedure is for you and how you feel about risk.

Your condition cannot be made to go away.

Most likely you’ll be fine to have elective cosmetic surgery including a BBL.

The worst case scenario is a stroke or fatal outcome.

Balancing these variables is something that you do together with your operating surgeon and your hematologist.

It is not some thing that is answered by posting on real self.

You can start the necessary work by having several in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who have a proven track record for the BBL procedure and talking to hematologist and or primary care doctor.
