The incisions could easily become infected with bacteria in the water and if an infection were to spread into the subcutaneous tissues, the result could be very serious. Chlorine or other standard swimming pool treatments are not a guarantee that the water is free of potential pathogens.

Thanks for your question. As long as your small incisions have completely healed, that should be OK. You will be fine to hold your compression garment for a couple of hours, but would need to get back into it ASAP afterward. Make sure your surgeon is OK with that plan first. Best wishes.
