Micro dermabrasions and chemical peels often go hand in hand and can be done at the same time. Be sure it is a doc who is doing your chemical peel to get the best results. Sincerely, David Hansen,MD
Chemical peels may be slightly more invasive after microdermabrasion as the oil is removed and the top layers of skin have already be exfoliated. I perform many chemical peels in conjunction with microdermabrasion. Raffy Karamanoukian, Los Angeles
Dear patient, I often perform a microdermabrasion or Manual Epidermal Dermabrasion before a chemical peel. The Microdermabrasion removes the top Epidermal layers and allows the TCA, Jessner, and even Phenol peel to get absorbed more evenly into the skin. There is one caveat: Any peel will become stronger and go deeper after Microdermabrasion. Once the Epidermis is removed the chemical peel can penetrate deeper and more caution is advised. Please make sure you get your treatments by an experienced Dermatologist. I hope this was helpful Yours. Dr David R.
Yes you can have both treatments done together, when having an experienced physican or esthetician the results will look amazing.
Thank you for your question. A microdermabrasion treatment can be preformed prior to a peel, when done correctly it will prep the skin and allow the peel to penetrate deeper. However if this treatment is not done properly you can end up with discoloration or burns. Be sure that you are going to a provider you have researched and trust. Also be sure you are closely following post care instructions; even a treatment done properly can have bad side effects when post care isn't followed. -Best wishes
A properly performed microdermabrasion procedure can prepare the skin surface well for a chemical peel resulting in a smooth and even complexion. However, either one alone or in combination can cause a significant injury if not performed under the supervision of a physician skilled and experienced in such procedures.
The first step would be to go to a burn specialist to heal the wounds. The second stage would be to begin topical skin lighteners such as Melarase to reduce discoloration. Raffy Karamanoukian, Los Angeles

Dear Patient, I often pre-treat my fractionated CO2 and Erbium patients with a regimen that includes Kojic acid, Hydroquinone cream, Retin A and also includes weekly Glycolic acid peels. I start with a very low concentration such as %10 and move up to %35. Light Glycolic (Alpha and Beta...
