Not satisfied with botox results on my forehead indentation. What filler should I use to fill this dent? (Photo)

I have been getting botox on my forehead to make the indentation less obvious, but I’m still not satisfied. I wanted to explore filler injection to make it smoother but unsure what type of fillers I should use. I visited two experienced broad certified plastic surgeons, one suggested injection onto the bone with Voluma while the other one suggested Belotero which is more forgiving to lumps. Suggestions

Thank you for your question and for providing a photo. Hyaluronic acid formulas such as Restylane® and Juvederm® are excellent options for addressing volume loss or contour irregularities. The results from both of these fillers are immediately apparent and generally last 6-12 months. Sculptra is another option that stimulates the body’s natural collagen production to provide gradual results over the course of 3-5 months with results that may last approximately 2 years. I recommend scheduling another in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon so that you may further compare all of the options available to you.

I would recommend a low viscosity filler with low cohesivity such as Restylane Refyne or Defyne. Voluma is way too cohesive and will likely give you a bulge in that area. Belotero isn’t substantive enough and will not correct the area well. With whatever material is used, make sure to “under correct” the area to avoid a convex bulge in that central forehead which is very unnatural. Also should be injected with caution to avoid vascular structures. Good luck!

What you have is a depression between the right and left frontalis muscles. This is present to some extent in everyone, but, in you, just somewhat exaggerated. The plastic surgeon who suggested Voluma deep is the one you should go with.
