Ultrasonic vs original method for rhinoplasty - which is better?

I had ultrasonic septo rhinoplasty 2 years ago but my nose bridge is still big and very bumpy just as much as before my op, no slope atall. My surgeon would do revision but I am wondering is the cause of such bump and inpredictable result down to the ultrasonic technique used? Would I be better to get revision done with another surgeon using the original method?

Thank you for your question. Ultrasonic rhinoplasty refers to the way in which the bone is cut - using an ultrasonic cutting device instead of an osteotome. It should not affect the way a profile looks and is unlikely to be the reason for your result. I recommend having a discussion with your rhinoplasty surgeon regarding your concerns.

Much more information is needed, such as a full set of facial photographs from all angles and copies of the operative report to determine what was performed in the first procedure. Also important know how much cartilage is left over on the inside of the nose for potential grafting purposes. Revision rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult procedures to perform correctly in the entire field of cosmetic surgery, so choose your second surgeon wisely based on extensive experience.
