I'm exploring the possibility of undergoing an upper blepharoplasty. In my teen years, I was diagnosed by an ophthalmologist with blepharochalasis—a condition involving changes to the upper eyelids. Since I was a kid , I’ve noticed recurring episodes where my upper eyelids suddenly develop multiple folds / creases after sleep. These folds can result in a swollen, droopy appearance or create a wrinkled texture (or both), as shown in the photos. At times, each eyelid appears noticeably different from the other. However, there are days after sleep it goes away and my eyelid skin goes back to normal (attached in photo). These episodes tend to make my eyelids feel heavy, especially when I look down for long periods and then shift my gaze upward. The attached video illustrates this fluctuation: my eyelid initially appears droopy, then shifts to a wrinkled form after a few blinks. I experience episodes frequently. When they occur, my eyelids often feel dry yet sticky, which seems to contribute to the shifting folds and overall discomfort The only reliable remedy for my lids to go back to normal is maintaining few consecutive days of good sleep. Im unsure whether upper blepharoplasty is the right path forward, given that I have episodes frequently but aren’t present every day. But I’m curious if excess skin may be contributing to these changes and whether the procedure might help reduce the severity or frequency of these episode
