Not seeing results from Sculptra, can I be immune to its properties?

Question

I am a 37 yo F with no known health issues. I was looking to restore normal age-related volume loss in my face and had 2 vials of Sculptra injected in March 2022, 2 vials injected in May 2022 and 2 vials (a total of 6 vials) injected in August 2022. I see no volume or even skin texture improvement whatsoever. I spent $4,200 total. Could I be immune to Sculptra or is this more likely an injector issue?

I stopped using Sculptra quite a few years ago, since it was quite expensive, did not yield immediate results and required several treatment sessions. It's original advantages were that it stimulated new collagen and elastic fiber synthesis and its results lasted longer when compared with the less robust HA fillers that existed at the time it was introduced to the market. My regular readers are aware that I have been alerting the public to this for the past several years.  By comparison, today's more robust, volumizing HA fillers typically yield immediate results that may be durable for up to two years. Additionally,  HA fillers, too, have been found to stimulate new, native collagen and elastic fiber synthesis.  I hope this is helpful. Best of luck going forward.

Without any before and after photos to base it on, it is impossible to answer your question. Chances are there are some subtle improvements in your face, skin and underlying structure. Sculptra also continues to show improvement over time. I would return to where you had it done to take a follow up photo and compare it to your preprocedure photo.

It's difficult to say what may be occurring without an exam or before/after photos.  After six vials some improvement at least would be expected.  I encourage you to return to your injector for an evaluation.

Without posting before, during & after injection photos very hard to evaluate. Usually 6 vials of Sculptra should give at least a moderate improvement. But try virtual consult with... BTW the fee @ $700/vial is quite reasonable. Maybe you need much more in # of vials to effectively see an improvement?
