How many sessions for Sculptra does a 60 year old need and when should the so called "new Sculptra be mixed prior?

I would not be concerned about your Sculptra being mixed just prior to your treatment. This should not affect your results. I prefer to mix Sculptra the day before I use it, but this is just my preference and not something that is mandatory. Sculptra can now be mixed just prior to treatment. The amount of Sculptra needed will vary by individual, but in general, I would think you would need at least 3 treatment sessions and you may need 1-2 vials per treatment, depending on your starting appearance.

At my practice we reconstitute the Sculptra vials 5-7 days prior to use and it has worked well for us. In my 15 + years of experience with sculptra, I have found that the right formula and mixing time prevents nodes and creates a beautifully blended result.

If mixed properly, it is now an accepted practice to mix Sculptra immediately prior to use. I personally still pre-mix our Sculptra for at least 72 hrs prior to use as it has been a very effective and predictable method for excellent results in my patients. The number of vials of Sculptra and number of treatment sessions vary depending on the individual patient response, in general we estimate that patients will take about 1 vial per decade of age over a 6 to 9 month period, in your case the estimate would be 6 vials of Sculptra.You should always take your time to carefully choose an expert injector physician, if you have lost faith in your current doctor, then you may choose to move on. Great question... The reason to pre mix Sculptra is so it emuslifies or mixes in an injectable solution. Usually 72 hours is needed to attain injectable mixture, but if using a rolling system then over night mixed is enough. But right before injection is questionable if you would receive the correct amounts.

It is true that it can be mixed at the time of the visit now. As for the other issues you are experiencing you should always have confidence in your injector. Sculptra is wonderful as long as you get enough product and do the regime advised to you.
