Why do some people's necks look wider after a facelift?

Why do some people get wider looking necks after a facelift? Isn't the neck skin supposed to be pulled up so people don't get the cobra look?

I agree a revision would help. It appears the platysmaplasty was a bit aggressive and too tight. It can be redone but would require a second facelift

A small acoustic neuroma will require ongoing observation to determine if surgery is ever required. However, it should have no bearing on planning for a facelift. It should be included as part of the discussion of your medical history, but will not change the approach to the procedure.
