Nearly all available 5th generation gel devices are cohesive. There are small variations in gel cohesiveness across brands and product portfolios. While most will not be able to detect a difference in softness between closely related devices within a given portfolio. For example, an Inspira soft touch (which occupies a "Goldilocks" position on the spectrum in the middle of available offerings) is only slightly softer than a Cohesive and slightly firmer than a Responsive. Comparing between brands is more difficult. That being said, most would concede that a Responsive is softer than a Memory Gel. However, that does not necessarily mean "better." It is important to remember gains in softness come at the cost of things like rippling and upper pole fullness. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
The regular Natrelle is as soft as Mentor Memory Gel and Natrelle Inspira is as firm as Mentor Memory Gel BOOST.
While one implant type/manufacturer may seem softer than another when feeling them on a countertop, how they feel inside your breast is not governed by the gel so much as the scar capsule you form around them. What we've learned in 60 plus years is that soft gel does not impart a more natural feel as more form stable gel, and that the latter leads to a better result. To answer your question, they are comparable in softness, but neither are the best gels available.
The silicone gel that is used in Mentor and Natrelle implants are the same. It is the shell that is different between the two companies. I have used both implants extensively in the past and when they are inserted you can not tell the difference in feel. Mentor shells are thinner than the Allergan (Natrelle) shells. I would go for whichever implant the plastic surgeon you choose feels more comfortable using.Hope that helps.
Thank you for your question. To start with, there are 3 companies who sell breast implants in America. Natrelle, Mentor and Sientra. If you feel the implants in your hand, Natrelle tend to feel the firmest, Mentor the softest and Sientra in the middle. However, once they are in your body, covered by your muscle, breast tissue, skin and fat, you cannot tell the difference. My preference is Sientra as they have the lowest rupture rate and by far the best warranty!
