How soon can nasal tip be revised?

Question

My surgeon used cadaver cartilage to build up my bridge and tip but my nose looks much worse than before. Tip looks like a huge blob and I know it won’t look better at 1 year (this was my 2nd rhinoplasty). Can revisions on the tip be done safely prior to 1 year? (Relationship with surgeon is severed. so going back to them not an option)

Hi Candy! At 1 year, a significant portion of the swelling should be gone. Around that time period, a discussion regarding a revision could occur. Prior to 1 year, it would depend on the surgeon and any changes you've seen in your nose. If the nose hasn't changed for months, it may be safe to proceed. While in the waiting period, I will have my patients undergo steroid injections, compressions, and nightly taping. During the revision, the tip can be deconstructed to allow for precise placement of grafts to create better symmetry and refinement.
