The ledge across my chin is new and likely caused by the implant. The goal was to make my profile and jaw line more pronounced. Please suggest a more attractive solution.
Answer: Filler Can Work Well For Elevating & Smoothing The Horizontal Crease Above The Chin At least from the photo, it appears that the chin implant increased the prominence of the deep, horizontal, so-called "mental crease"--the horizontal linear depression above the chin and below the lower lip. It is unfortunately too late to suggest that the desired chin projection could have been achieved easily and immediately (and with little to no significant post-treatment downtime) via the use of an appropriately robust HA filler. At this point, however, an appropriate HA filler can be used to elevate and smooth the prominent mental crease responsible for creating the "ledge" seen in the photo. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler injector. Best of luck.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Implant too big? A lot more information is needed before I can give you advice. Before and after photos and type of implant as well as the date of surgery. If you have an implant made of silicone it can easily be removed to get you back to your original appearance in many cases.

Answer: Jaw implant If you are experiencing a ledge across your chin as a result of a jaw implant, it's important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in jaw surgery and implant revision. One possible solution may be to remove or revise the jaw implant. Depending on the extent of the issue, your surgeon may recommend replacing the current implant with a smaller or differently shaped one, or removing the implant altogether and exploring other options to enhance your jawline and profile. In some cases, your surgeon may recommend using dermal fillers or fat grafting to add volume and definition to the chin and jawline. Alternatively, they may suggest orthognathic surgery, which can help to correct jaw alignment issues and improve the overall appearance of the lower face. Ultimately, the best approach will depend on your individual case and goals, so it's important to work closely with a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon to develop a personalized treatment plan. They can evaluate your situation, discuss your options, and help you make an informed decision about how to move forward. I hope this helps, best of luck !
