Vertical indent 5 years post op - Do I need a full revision rhinoplasty? (Photos)
I am 5 years post op for closed rhinoplasty. I noticed a bump on my nose very soon after healing but didn't care at the time because it was just a small bump. As time went on and my swelling reduced/my skin is looser as I age, I noticed that there there is a vertical indent in my nose between my nasal bones. I also feel on and off pressure on my nose, but I don't know if I am imaging it. That being said, I brought up my concerns to my surgeon and showed him the indent in my nose. I was concerned that it was an open roof deformity, but he said that it is not. He said he could locally shave my nasal bones done on each side to give my nose a smoother effect and get rid if the dent. Is this the approach I should go with or will I actually need a full revision rhinoplasty? I'm really worried that doing localized rasping could make it worse and make it hard to get a revision in the future if I need it.
