This is an interesting question. The main issue with fat transfer to the nasolabial fold is survivability. The fold itself has very little native fat so there is not a real home for the factor to live. The best place to put the fat in the fold is actually on the piriform aperture adjacent to the ala of the nose. This is the spot that fills out the depression from age. While some fat should be injected into the fold, this is not the real "money spot" for the correction you are probably seeking.
It is difficult to say without photos or an in-person evaluation. Discuss best aftercare protocol with your physician. Best, Dr. Emer
This needs an in-person evaluation. A combination of 5/FU steroids, lasers, microneedling/prp and radiofrequency can give improvement. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your photos. Without knowing how much fat was injected it is impossible to know how much you retained. The swelling after surgery can last for months. So it is possible you have mistaken fat for swelling. Based on your photos now, assuming that the last picture is your current...
I would be surprised if your doctor did not tell you you were still swollen. Nothing looks abnormal to me. Patient's, low-salt, sleep with the head elevated, and you will probably look very good in a few weeks.
