I went to Brazil for a tummy tuck and bbl. The surgeon decided to do a fat transfer to my face without my consent. I’m still dealing with side affects such as extreme dark circles under my eyes, and a lump of fat under one eye. Is there ANYTHING that can be done to fix this? I have an appointment with a certified plastic surgeon but I would like to hear others options before going. Thank you

Answer: Eyelid Fat Transfer Fat transfer to the lower eyelid is a very delicate procedure. Too little fat results in persistent hollowness while too much fat can cause lumps. You can do gentle finger tip massage 2-4 times per day over the lumps to flatten these areas. There is usually a combination of fat and swelling in the grafted area. Over the course of a few months the swelling will resolve and some of the fat will disappear and you usually will see the final result in 6 months. Should the lumps not resolve by 6 months and they feel firm then they would need to be surgically removed. This is a technically challenging procedure and is best handled by an oculoplastic surgeon (ophthalmologist who specializes in eyelid surgery). The discoloration is likely a result of bruising and it should resolve over a few months time.
