Chin lipo & implant - which one should I have first?

Question

I’m interested in getting chin lipo and implant, due to budget issues, I can only do one at a time. Is it safer to have chin implant or chin lipo first? I’d love to get the implant first, but worried the surgeon will accidentally dislocated the chin. Is this likely to happen? Do I have to stick to the same surgeon on the implant & the lipo just so he/she knows they placed an implant at my chin before?

Thank you for your question. While both procedures can be performed at the same time, I understand your budget needs and your choice in doing them separately. It doesn’t really matter which procedure you decide to go forward with first, as the same incision can be used for each separate surgery. 
You may find that one of these options provides the desirable change to your appearance and that you may no longer require the other. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to conduct a thorough physical examination and determine which approach may be best as your first option.

It doesn't matter which one you have first, but they can both be performed through the same incision. Liposuction is performed in the neck itself to remove fat deposits in that location. Placement of a chin implant is located over the frontal area of the chin but incision is underneath the chin. Both procedures can be done together under local anesthesia and through the same incision.
