How can I improve stubborn bumps & scars from shaving? (Photos)

Question

Hi, I have scarring and bumps going around my naval and down(happy trail) from shaving.. I am in the process of laser hair removal, I’ve had about 5-6 treatments but not consistently the hair is reduced but not gone. I’m continuing treatment but I really wanna get rid of the scarring the shaving caused but I don’t see a difference in the bumps and scarring, also have the same scarring on my bikini line and really dark skin on the area, how can I improve these issues?

Stop shaving: Shaving can cause razor burn, bumps, and scarring. Consider stopping shaving altogether and opt for other hair removal methods like waxing, sugaring, or using hair removal creams. These methods may also be less likely to cause ingrown hairs.
Moisturize regularly: Keep the affected areas moisturized to reduce the appearance of scarring and bumps. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to avoid further irritation.
Exfoliate: Exfoliating the affected area can help remove dead skin cells and reduce the risk of ingrown hairs. Use a gentle exfoliator once or twice a week to avoid over-exfoliating and causing further irritation.
Seek professional treatment: Consider seeking professional treatment for your scarring and dark skin. Options include chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser resurfacing. These treatments can help improve the appearance of scarring and even out skin tone.
Continue laser hair removal: Laser hair removal can be a long process, and it's not uncommon for it to take more than six sessions to see significant results. Continue with your treatments to reduce the amount of hair and decrease the risk of further ingrown hairs and scarring.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.
