The results immediately following surgery will be the largest due to swelling and lack of fat resorption. This will be dependent to some extent on surgical technique and the result the surgeon typically generates. After the initial resorption phase, the fat obtains its blood supply and is living tissue. In my experience, the volume of the buttocks that is present at 4 to 6 weeks is the volume that stays. About 50% of the fat injected obtains permanence. The fat transfer produces long-lasting results if your weight remains stable.A patient should always be aware of the fact that any loss of body fat will result in a loss of fat and volume in the buttocks and hips. This is the most common reason that a patient notices a loss in volume after the 4 week period.
Hello @Kind604267 thank you for your question. I understand your concern, however without a proper assessment an expert opinion is not possible. The best course of action is to consult one or several board certified plastic surgeon for more information. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD FACS
Dear Kind604267,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
without in person or even virtual consult with having many questions very hard to give reasons for loss of BBL volume. Possible reasons: poor fat types was injected in either very diluted solution; use of over hydrated fat; use of non fat products ie HA fillers. Best to obtain in person or virtual second opinions. My guess is you need round 2 surgical BBL c large amounts of non surgical injections of Sculptra/Radeisse. This is my "COMPOSITE BBL" option. Fees fro $15,000.
Unfortunately volume loss following a BBL is common. This is a result of the fat cells dying, which 3-4 months after your operation, can result in up to 60% volume loss. The optimal BBL outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACSRealself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
When reviewing results we need to see proper before and after pictures. Both Liposuction and fat transfer takes time to see the final results. As substantial volume is lost from fat transfer during the first six months.Standard pictures should show patients in an upright standing position showing the front side and back wearing undergarments showing the body from the shoulders to the knees.Include before and after pictures so we know where you started from.If you don’t have before and after pictures then ask you the surgeon who did your procedure to forward the ones they took.Early fat transfer results do not represent final results.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
