As we age, our eyelids naturally sag and droop. A combination approach would be best to see visible improvement. Virtually all human eyes and faces are asymmetric. The asymmetries start at the level of the bone including the skull, eye sockets, cheek bones, nose and jaw. There are often differences in muscle shape, thickness and tone. Ligaments that support the muscles and skin that originate from the bone are frequently asymmetric in position, surface area, length, and strength.
Correcting bony asymmetry is very complex and reserved for severe congenital differences or trauma. Soft tissue volume asymmetry is far easier to improve with either filler or fat grafts.
Differences in eye shape, size and pupil position can result from differences in eye socket volume and/or vertical position, differences in eye muscle strength, and differences in eyelid strength, eyelid length, and eyelid skin.
