I find when my face is in a relaxed state the eyelids and eyebrows are unsymmetrical. On one side the eyelid and the eyebrow hangs lower. Would I benefit more from removing eyelid tissue (blepharoplasty) or an eyebrow lift? If latter, would I only lift one eyebrow?
Answer: Blepharoplasty or forehead lift are not what you need. You have bilateral upper eyelid ptosis (heavy upper eyelids). The upper eyelid ptosis is worse on the left side and you have compensatory eyebrow elevation. You need the upper eyelid ptosis repaired. At that time, you might benefit from a small removal upper eyelid fold skin (a blepharoplasty). The key is you need to see someone who actually understands upper eyelid ptosis. Sadly, many surgeons really don't understand ptosis, how to assess it, and how to treat it. This means you are at high risk of having a forehead lift or blepharoplasty without having the upper eyelid ptosis repair. Your eyelids can be harmed in the process. Get the right care.

Answer: Brow lift or Blepharoplasty? Thank you for your question and providing photos. It's important to note that asymmetrical eyebrows and eyelids are quite common and often a natural occurrence in many individuals. The underlying cause can be attributed to various factors, including genetics, muscle imbalance, or even habits such as sleeping on one side more often. To determine the most suitable approach for addressing your specific concern, it would be best to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon he/she will assess your condition and provide you with personalised recommendations based on your facial anatomy, skin elasticity, and overall goals. In some cases, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) might be recommended if excess eyelid skin is the main cause of asymmetry. On the other hand, an eyebrow lift may be suggested if a drooping brow is the primary concern. I believe in your case a brow lift should be the option. If following a clinical examination an eyebrow lift is recommended, it doesn't necessarily mean that only one eyebrow will be lifted. It will depend on the degree of asymmetry and the desired outcome. The plastic surgeon will evaluate your facial features and determine the appropriate approach to achieve a more symmetrical appearance. In cases where the eyebrow asymmetry is minimal and surgery is not indicated, muscle relaxing injectables such as Botox or Dysport may be recommended to level the eyebrows, however this won’t be permanent, and treatment would need to be repeated to maintain the result. Wish you all the best. Allen Rezai M.D.

Answer: Non-Surgical Chemical Brow Lift for Eyelid Rejuvenation -- add Ultherapy, Thread Lifting, RF Skin Tightening, Laser Treatments As we age, our eyelids naturally sag and droop. A combination approach would be best to see visible improvement. In terms of non-surgical treatment options, I would recommend a Chemical Brow Lift (using Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, or Jeuveau) and filler injections to rejuvenate the temples, eyebrow, eyelid, eye troughs, upper eye hollows, and forehead. I typically combine this with Ultherapy and thread lifting to lift the brow; RF and skin tightening laser treatments to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin; and laser or superficial RF devices for improvements in texture, color, and any crepey skin around the eyes as needed. In some cases, surgery is the best solution to achieve the desired results. See an expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Which eyelid procedure is correct Thank you for sharing your question and posting your photos. You have ptosis of both eyelids (drooping) and extra skin on the right upper lid. First correct the ptosis and then the extra skin. See an experienced oculoplastic surgeon for comprehensive evaluation and discussion of treatment options. Good luck,
