I had a very bad experience. I was fit, good diet etc. I was just bothered by my little pouch that didnt go away with exercise (I exercised 3x/w). The doctor I saw claimed to be an expert. I liked my body, I wanted to have the same shape. Just a little less fat. Now I am completely scarred, the whole abdominal wall feels like glued. I have a scar plate my gynocologist said could trouble me with pregnancy. Can you tell me what happened to me? It was too aggressive? I am devastated & in pain
Answer: Addressing Hypertrophic Scarring After Aggressive VASER Liposuction Hello and thank you for sharing your story and photos. I’m very sorry to hear about your challenging experience. From your history and the photos provided, it appears that you have developed hypertrophic scarring and adhesions following your VASER liposuction procedure. This can happen if the liposuction was overly aggressive, which may damage the underlying tissues and cause the scarring and adhesions you’re experiencing. The abdominal "glued" feeling and scar plate your gynecologist mentioned likely stem from excessive internal trauma during the procedure, leading to fibrotic tissue buildup. While this is understandably upsetting, there are several approaches that may help. First, I recommend starting with conservative treatments to address the scarring and adhesions: Deep Tissue Massage: This can help break up scar tissue and improve mobility in the affected areas. Regular sessions with an experienced therapist may reduce tightness and improve the "glued" sensation. Steroid or 5-FU Injections: These injections target hypertrophic or keloid scars and can help soften the scar tissue and reduce its prominence over time. If conservative treatments do not yield sufficient improvement, we can consider more advanced interventions: VASER Ultrasonic Treatment: While VASER may have caused the initial issues, it can also be used strategically in skilled hands to break up scar tissue using ultrasonic energy. This method can help smooth out uneven areas and reduce internal scarring. Surgical Scar Revision: If the adhesions and scarring remain severe, a surgical approach may be required. This could involve making precise incisions to release adhesions, remove scar tissue, and re-drape the skin. However, as you noted, this can be challenging because you may not have much excess abdominal skin. For now, I strongly encourage taking a gradual approach, beginning with conservative therapy and moving to surgical solutions only if absolutely necessary. Working with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in revision procedures and scar management will give you the best chance of achieving the results you’re seeking. While I understand your frustration and devastation, with the right care and expertise, there is hope for improvement. Good luck, and congratulations on taking this first step toward resolving your concerns. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: How far How far after surgery are you? If you are only several days or several weeks, thing should continue to improve with compression lymphatic massage etc. If this is several months after it would be very good to discuss with your operating surgeon what other possibilities are.

Answer: The Best Treatment for You! Hello, A very poor Vaserlipo procedure has been performed. Excessive suction has been applied to both the deep and superficial layers, resulting in severe fibrosis and depressions leading to deformities. Although your abdominal area had great potential for excellent results, the outcome is unfortunately very disappointing. The excessive fibrosis has caused extreme hardness in the abdomen, giving the sensation of wearing a corset. With the help of an experienced plastic surgeon, there is a strong possibility that the appearance can be improved to some extent.
