15-year-old forearm scar with mild puckering and slight tightness. Is scar revision worth considering?
I have a linear scar on my forearm that is about 15 years old. It has always had some puckering/indentation and looks slightly tethered to the tissue underneath. It feels a little tight at times, but it has been stable for years and is not painful. I do not have major limitation in motion. I’m mainly wondering: 1. Does this look like mild scar tethering/puckering? 2. Would scar revision realistically help flatten or improve the puckering? 3. Is this the kind of scar that is usually better left alone if symptoms are minimal? 4. Would a plastic surgeon be the right specialist to evaluate this? I understand revision would improve it, not erase it. I’m just trying to get a sense of whether this seems like a reasonable elective case or if the likely benefit would be modest.
