Can the tyndall effect from HA fillers be gray/purple in colour?

I have this gray/purple-ish hue under my right eye that has persisted more than 2 years after Restylane under my eyes. I tried bleaching creams and they did nothing.. I don't understand why this isn't going away! I hope it might be the filler still there, but I keep hearing the tyndall-effect from fillers is blue, but I wouldn't call mine blue, it's more gray/purple-ish. It's hard to explain. It doesn't really show well in photos. Can the filler appear gray/purple under the skin? Or always blue?

Yes, this may be the Tyndall effect, but you'll need a consultation to determine if filler is present and creating these results. If it is filler, it can be reversed with hyaluronidase. Hope this helps.

Tyndall can be bluish, redish, and purpleish. I suggest you see an expert and if you are unhappy revesre the filler and do RF treatments to help speed up the healing.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Injecting the under eye region is an advanced injection technique that requires injectcor experience and expertise. The Tyndall Effect, which is typically a blue/gray discoloration (of the kind that is being described here) is usually the result of improper placement of the injectable material, i.e. too superficially injected within the delicate infraorbital skin, and for this reason it is not a region that should be left to the hands of inexperienced, novice injectors accustomed to injecting ordinary Restylane or Juvederm into simple smile lines. Before the introduction of other fillers, we used to use diluted Restylane for this indication. More recently Restylane Silk has been used. In my NY office, I prefer Belotero Balance, since it possesses little to no tendency to give rise to the Tyndall Effect. (In my Israel satellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved fillers are available, I opt for Teosyal Redensity II or Aliaxin FL for this purpose.)  Happily, the injection of a small amount of hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler should fix the problem. Be sure you are consulting with a board certified aesthetic physician. Best of luck.

However, Tyndall now means virtually any color change that you don't like after a filler service.  The key to these is getting a tiny amount of hyaluronidase to adjust the service to reduce or remove this effect.  The product generally does not need to be removed, just modified.
