Can a tattoo artist do this?

I have had several tattoo artist come to me for their SMP work.  I am sure with training, a tattoo artist can do it. However, they would need the special instrument, needle, and pigment to make it work.  Tattoo artist can't give you local anesthesia for a pain free experience. 

The short answer is yes; however, you may not be satisfied with the results and may not be able to tolerate the discomfort.  Speak with your operator about the equipment they use, their experience, their pigments, and methods they use to control pain. Nikki D. Hill, MD

There are laws governing who can administer tattoos.  Only a doctor can provide anesthesia for the pain that could be caused by thousands of needle sticks in the head. Few tattooist under the difference between SMP and standard tattooing and we see the problems when they enter into this space as these patients come to us for repairs of the work, often.  See our web-stie below
