8 months ago, I had a combined FUT/FUE surgery (2500 grafts to frontal, mid, and vertex scalp). There are about 100 hairs near the crown area that do not grow (length 2-3mm) and they have been there at the same size for the past 4 months (Perhaps some of them from day one). They are sturdy and do NOT easily come out. Is there any chance that they still grow? My doctor has lately been missing in action due to an illness so I would appreciate any input that you might have.

Answer: It may take 8-12 months before seeing the final results of your hair transplant surgery.
It is best to see a doctor in person for an examination so you can better understand realistic outcomes after your doctor has a chance to listen to your exact goals.
Your donor area will always look "thinner" proportionate to the number of hairs taken out after a FUE harvesting surgery. The hairs will NOT grow back from the donor area (where it was taken). If it all goes to plan the donor hairs will grow in the area it was transplanted.
Personalized medical treatment advice on the Internet without a good history and examination is inaccurate and may lead to confusion and misinformation.
