Spiky short hair that does not grow after 8 months of combined FUT/FUE transplant. Is there chance for growth? (photo)

8 months ago, I had a combined FUT/FUE surgery (2500 grafts to frontal, mid, and vertex scalp). There are about 100 hairs near the crown area that do not grow (length 2-3mm) and they have been there at the same size for the past 4 months (Perhaps some of them from day one). They are sturdy and do NOT easily come out. Is there any chance that they still grow? My doctor has lately been missing in action due to an illness so I would appreciate any input that you might have.

It may take 8-12 months before seeing the final results of your hair transplant surgery. If you are concerned, follow up with your surgeon for an exam.

This is unlikely to change at this stage I’m afraid. It appears you may need another procedure to add density to the crown.

I'm not sure there is much you can do to salvage those 100 hairs. I would love to see your before and afters as well as the surgical diagram. Also if it was combined why was the number of grafts so low, is this a repeat procedure? I would follow up with your doctor and if you cannot find a doctor who can evaluate you. Perhaps some PRP may stimulate growth. Hope that helps!

At 8 months if the grafts are only a few mm each, they will not grow and you should assume a no growth scenario
