You will undoubtedly see changes in your nose following the surgery as the swelling subsides and things settle. Since this process of resolution and healing can occur asymmetrically, you may see "deformities" that will be transient. I would discuss your concerns with your surgeon who may want to start you on oral steroids or nasal taping to hasten things along.
Congratulations on your surgery. It is very difficult to tell at this point what is swelling and what is not. You are too early in the recovery phase. The best thing you can do at this time is not to stress and continue with your scheduled follow ups with your plastic surgeon. It will be several months before you will be able to determine how things are going to shape up.I would be patient for the next 6 months.Good luck.
It's possible to see undesirable results after surgery, but it's too early to make that conclusion. Swelling after a rhinoplasty is common and can last several weeks to months. As that swelling resolves, you may notice various minor imperfections which may not be permanent. It's best to let all the swelling go away before one can make a more accurate exam. The best recommendation is to be patient and have regular follow ups with your surgeon so you both can track the healing process. Best regards.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the answer is that it is too early to tell. It may be that the dent will get worse as the swelling goes down, but it is also certainly possible that it goes away as the surrounding swelling abates. I know this isn't the answer most people want to hear, but its the unfortunate reality. Try not to worry about it if you can. Continue your regular follow up with your surgeon and bring any concerns you have to their attention. All the best!
Dear Sharon At 12 days, you should just be patient and wait. Share your concern with your surgeon at your followup visit. It will take time before the swelling settles and you have a better idea of your results. Sharing it with your surgeon is important so he know your concerns and can help guide you to the best outcome possible. Congratulations on having had your nose surgery!!
Asymmetries in swelling can develop as the nose is healing from rhinoplasty surgery. These asymmetries will improve and probably resolve as the swelling subsides. Twelve days is too early to judge the result at this point. If you continue to see this asymmetry continue after 3-6 months then I would bring up to the attention of your surgeon.
It is very common for small irregularities to present themselves in the early days after rhinoplasty. Your surgeon should have addressed the healing times for this surgery, but there is a significant amount of swelling which persists for up to one year. The majority of the edema will resolve within the first few months, but then small refinements will not show themselves until the one year mark. It is a long process and make sure to keep the dialogue open with your surgeonBest of luck
At 12 days post surgery, it is way too early to tell! The nose is a small area, so even the smallest bit of swelling can change the shape of the nose. Give it some time; share your concerns with your surgeon and reevaluate in the future.
Thank you for your question. 12 days is really too soon to tell if you have any sort of issue with your nose. You are still swollen and not all the way healed. It will take several months before you see your final result. Make sure you follow up with your surgeon as he/she knows what was done during your surgery and is best qualified to answer questions regarding your recovery. Best of luck,Dr. Peter Newen
Thank you for your question. As long as you didn't hit your nose, you you don't have to worry about affecting the results of your recent rhinoplasty. I'ts good it was only the top of your head. I've had patients that were it from the same situation you describe, but in the nose...
Rather than trying to get the nose of a celebrity, try and search out the best possibility for your nose and face. Just because the nose looks good on one person, does not mean that it will look good on another face. Your imaging of your nose is a better means of evalauting your results, but...
Close follow up with your primary care physician to treat your urinary tract infection with antibiotics should not have any affect on your rhinoplasty procedure.
