Is it a simple procedure to remove an Alar cinch suture?

I had the sutures done 4 months ago and it's been bothering me lately.. and my lips would get distorted literally by just moving my mouth around one side or the other and my upper lip would get stuck in animations from the sutures. I really want a quick and easy way to remove this suture once and for all. Can someone let me know what's involved and how much it would be ballpark?

Alar cinch removal is usually quick and easy; however, the best person to remove it is the person who put it in. The advantage they have is they know where they buried the know, and they now what type of suture was used. I prefer Prolene for the alar cinch, because it is not uncommon for the patient to feel tight in the area after surgery. If this sensation is uncomfortable and does not go away, a Prolene suture is much easier to remove, and it can often be done in the office with a bit of local.

An alar cinching suture typically is a non-absorbable, thick stitch that is placed from a stab-incision on one side of your nostril across to the other. When the cinching suture is tightened, this results in slight narrowing of the base of your nose. Removal of such a stitch may not be as involved as you think. How the alar cinch suture was placed will determine if ti can be easily removed or clipped. This is a question for your surgeon who placed it.
