I had EVLT treatment on both of my legs about a month ago. A week after the procedure I had my first session of sclero. Two weeks later I had a second session. I know it may take a while to heal but after the sclero sessions I was left with little red veins through out my legs, clusters of little veins in some places like around the knee area especially. I've never had red veins like that and I'm wondering, will it go away in time or will I need to have more treatment?
Answer: Matting after scerotherapy, My dear lady, If you had only spider veins and whoever did on you EVLT, that physician is a crook. Any form of ablation of the long or short Saphenous vein (thermal, surgical, injections) is needed only in the presence of Varicose Veins, NOT spider veins. NEVER! Unfortunately, insurance companies pay well for thermal ablation and physicians use it to milk money. Besides, by closing your saphenous vein, you lost a by-pass material in case you will have coronary artery problems later in life. Lastly, do not permit anymore any injections in those red matted spiders. It will get worse. He/she is also probably using high concentration of the sclerosing solution or saline that can produce matting. I am sorry that I can't help you!!

Answer: Usually resolves Matting after this treatment usually resolves on it's own, though that process usually takes at least 3-6 months and can take as long as 12. If it persists after that, you should consider sclerotherpay of the area.
