i'm not scared of the after pain or the recovery I'm not concerned about that AT ALL. & $$ is definitely not a issue. The only one thing holding me the HELL back is the general anethesia. My friends & family are scaring me about it. Like.. What if I'm allergic 2 what's IN the general anesthesia ?! Is there some where I can get tested 2 see if I'm allergic to anesthesia ?! Cud I don't want to have complications or better yet I DONT WANT TO DIE! Thats y I thought local anesthesia would be better
Answer: Pain opinions recovery General anesthesia local anesthesia General anesthesia is not the only possibility for having breast augmentation surgery. There are other possibilities but most important you need to talk with your surgeon about facts of anesthesia and evaluate your case. Regardless the type of anesthesia you decide to have the most important decision is who and where to have surgery so they are prepared to take care of you at all times . Look for accredited facilities as AAASF and Board certified plastic surgeons.

Answer: More Anesthesia Fears Hello,Friends and family aren't doctors, and suffer from the same irrational and/or uninformed fears that you do. You've posted on this multiple times and gotten virtually the same response from every surgeon: general anesthesia is safe and the best way to perform breast augmentation. Best of luck.

Answer: I'm so scared of general anesthesia! For breast implant surgery Anxiety prior to surgery is very normal; its complete elimination is usually not possible. Assuming you have chosen your plastic surgeon carefully, other important "variables" such as anesthesia provider and surgery facility will be selected based on everyone's first priority: safety. This careful selection should give you some peace of mind that you will be safe around the time of surgery. Discuss your specific areas of concerns with your plastic surgeon who will be in the best position to help you calm your nerves. I ask my patients to try to be as calm as possible prior to surgery; this “calmness" tends to translate to a smoother postoperative course. Generally, patients find that they did “get worked up for nothing” after their recovery is completed. I hope this helps.

Answer: Anesthesia concerns Here's my first bit of advice: take a deep breath and relax!I perform breast augmentation on patients under general anesthesia every day. It is safe, and in my eyes, absolutely superior to doing the operation under local or regional anesthesia. It allows the best results from the operation, and an incredibly low complication rate.I think most important thing to consider when undergoing breast augmentation is that you find a surgeon who is certified by the American Board of plastic surgery has extensive experience in the procedure and understands how to do it safely to ensure the best for their patients. Many surgeons, myself included, will do the procedure with board certified anesthesiologist to ensure the best possible outcomes. With regard to the very, very small risk for reactions to anesthesia, most facilities are prepared to deal with them and prevent any complications. Again… This is were choosing the right surgeon and anesthesiologist is critical to get the best resultsI wish you the best,Dr. Gabbay
