What can be done about this redness 2 months after dermal fillers? (Photos)

Dear Doni1491,Thank you for your question. To the best of my knowledge, and according to the FDA website, Stylage is not approved in the United States, although it is used extensively in Europe. It is not normal to have so much redness 2 months after a filler injection, and you should reconsult with your injector as you may need antibiotics or have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase. Do not wait, because it is an infection and it goes untreated in can cause irreversible damage to your face. Always make sure your injector is reputable and qualified. Good luck.Nirmal R. You are dealing with an infection and not vascular compromise.  You need to be placed on oral antibiotics and if the infection does not resolve then the filler needs to be dissolved or this process will continue to recur.  

I doubt this is vascular occlusion since that may present as painful whiteness of an injected area, usually noted the day of the treatment. Occasionally the large sugar molecule, HA, may become infected and lead to red raised areas. If that's the case, a course of antibiotics may be helpful. If you cannot find a reputable physician familiar with the treatment of HA problems, consider calling the manufacturer of Stylage XL to report the event and ask for a local referral. The redness can indicate intravascular occlusion or blood vessels compression and I suggest you see your physician right away.  This can be reversed with hyaluronidase and should be treated with topical vasodilators (nitropaste) as prevention. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question . You should definitely follow up with your injector to be evaluated .You may need antibiotics,  steroid cream/injection or reversal  of the HA filler .
