Venaseal rules out risk of a nerve injury as opposed to other venous treatments. Once this safe and effective adhesive is administered into the targeted area, it is naturally absorbed by the body over time. Most patient’s favorite part so far? No hose or downtime! Some patients have experienced minimal to moderate pain during the procedure, but it is far better than some alternative options.
There is no down time after thermal ablation and/or varicose vein removal (phlebectomy) but may need days to weeks (months at times) for "bruising", "numbness" and some other minor issues.
Thank you for the question. Venaseal post-care include: Walking 5 minutes every hour is important the first few days while healing, otherwise no downtime, no compression stocking. LOVA- Lake Oswego Vein and Aesthetic
VenaSeal does not typically require compression stockings afterwards, which is nice, but it has a higher risk of post-treatment phlebitis (a painful inflammation of some branch veins), which is not as nice. As with most medical procedures, find a doctor you trust, ask a lot of questions, and take recommendations. You are doing to your doctor because he or she is an expert and knows what will be best for you.
VenaSeal reduces discomfort and recovery time. An adhesive seals the vein only with one needle stick for numbing purposes, and it is not necessary to use compression stocking after the procedure like with the thermal energy more traditional treatment options. Comparing to heat procedures VenaSeal system experience is less painful and less trauma or bruising. Some potential risks include allergic reaction to the adhesive, and phlebitis among others.
Generally there is mild discomfort but no down time. There is always a risk of Vein irration or phlebitis along the treated vein segment. This can prolong recovery ,but generally the procedure is well tolerated. This procedure is not covered by insurance.
after the venaseal procedure people usually do not have pain. However, with any vein procedure the veins can become irritated and can get inflamed. This local phlebitis or inflammation of the vein is painful. It usually happens in branch veins. Overall, Venaseal is a well tolerated procedure but is not covered but any insurances that I am aware of. I would discuss treatment options with your physician .
Most patients who chose venaseal have no significant downtime and can return to their usual activity immediately. There is no need for compression stockings as in other treatments. We've even had patients play competitive sports the next day!
The technology was developed to reduce post procedure down time but as with any vein procedure, there may be localized inflammation (called phlebitis). This is a chemical phlebitis related to the glue that is injected in varicose vein segments. A catheter is inserted into the vein using US guidance to allow injection of the VenaSeal adhesive, a clear liquid that polymerizes into solid material. The U.S. clinical study assessed the safety and effectiveness of the VenaSeal system in 108 participants compared to radio-frequency ablation in 114 participants. The trials showed the device to be safe and effective for vein closure for the treatment of symptomatic superficial varicose veins of the legs. The VenaSeal system should not be used in patients who have a known hypersensitivity to the VenaSeal adhesive, acute inflammation of the veins due to blood clots or acute whole-body infection.
