Will I be able to play clarinet after my rhinoplasty?

As a former band member (nerd alert :), I can appreciate this question.  As your surgeon stated, you will be able to play your instrument after about one month.  You may even be able to play for longer periods if you received a functional (breathing) improvement from your surgery.  Good luck with the rest of your recovery!  

No, you should not worry about the possibility of losing the ability to play the clarinet. In the short term, you would need to depend on breathing through your nose well in order to generate force for playing the clarinet and I would follow your surgeon's advice in avoiding play for at least 4 weeks.

Rhinoplasty surgery is aimed to improve the appearance, and sometimes to improve quality of nasal airway. Once surgery is done successfully, you should be able to play clarinet without problems. Particularly, if the surgery is done to improve the nasal airway, you may be able to play longer or better.  Best,

 A rhinoplasty procedure will not affect playing a musical instrument. It's best to not play for at least 2-3 weeks after the surgery to avoid pressure in the nose. A nose bleed will just delay the healing process.

Could not resist to say, "If you could play it before your surgery, you should be able to play it afterwards!!!! You should probably not blow on any instruments which would create positive pressure in your nose that might change surgical modifications for at least one month.
