I had nice lips to begin with, I just thought why not try fuller lips but now I'm regreting it. I had them injected today, just 1ml. First photo is right after, doctor said they were swollen. After almost 7 hours they look like the second and third pic, very swollen, uneven. I'm very worried my lips will turn out too big or uneven. I wish a doctor can take a look and tell me if it looks like a good job and will be ok? How much of the volume is actual swelling. I'm thinking of reversing them.

Answer: Panicking after Lip Injections. Swelling is Normal Swelling is very common after lip injections. The majority of swelling will last 2 to 4 days and slowly subside over a week time frame. Typically people feel soreness and discomfort for the first couple hours or day after the injections. With this being said, I would still advise you to talk with your injector to calm your mind. I hope this helps

Answer: Swelling after lip augmentation Thanks for your question and I appreciate your concern. I tell my patients to expect substantial swelling in the first 3-5 days after lip augmentation. One day out, it is too early to tell. You may be surprised at how much the lips go down in the ensuing few days. Depending on the filler, there may be an "antidote" (hyaluronidase for Restylane/Perlane/Juvederm products) that can break apart the hyaluronic acid but I find it is rarely needed in lip augmentation patients if they are able to wait it out. If you remain concerned at one week, go back to your injector or see another physician for a second opinion.
