Will a normal pimple on the scalp adversely impact hair grafts?

Question

I have acne, and I plan on getting a hair transplant in the near future. If I happen to get a pimple on my scalp after surgery (just a normal pimple, not folliculitis), will that adversely impact the grafts? Thanks.

A pimple will not affect your hair transplant, but be careful it is not becoming infected

Just an isolated pimple or two post procedure should not have any impacts on the grafts. However ,since you have acne there might be an increased chance that you subsequently develop more extensive folliculitis (which still ultimately should not affect your final result) .I would discuss this with your surgeon-perhaps they will want to cover you with antibiotics before and after the procedure.

Hello and thank you for your question. If you get one or two simple pimples it should not be a problem. However if any pimples become infected that would not be a good thing. I would ask your hair loss professional these questions to see if its a problem with him/her.

Are you being treated with Acutane. If so, a hair transplant should not be done. IF not, then a pimple that pops up should not be a problem.
