Advice for minimal scarring alarplasty/alar/nostril reduction on thick scar prone ethnic/African American skin? (photos)

1. Where would you make the incision to achieve the results for minimal scarring? 2. I’m looking for a nostril reduction that will fit between the corner of my eyes is that possible? 3. Have you done it on AA patients or Asian patients, do you have front facing and side view photos with no photo shop to show your minimal scarring results for this procedure? Thank you.

There are several ways of reducing the nasal base without an external scar. Degloving the lower half of the nose accomplishes some degree of contraction and this can be followed by cinching cultures. Both procedures are performed via internal nasal incisions that do not show.

The incisions are placed along the alar/lip groove in everyone. Variation of scar placement occurs at the confluence of the ala, lip, and nortril, an area known as the nasal sill. In someone with your anatomy, the scar should stop short of entering the sill region, where it can become noticeable.

Alarplasty:
Alarplasty is a very fine and quick procedure that can narrow the nostrils and reduce the flare to soften the appearance. It has other names as well like ‘Weir Excisions’ or ‘Nostril Reduction’. However, it is important to note that asymmetry of nostrils is common and cannot be corrected with alarplasty.

So go on some complimentary consultations with experts and compare recommendations after a full examination and discussion of desired results and look at photos of similar patients and become fully informed about the desired procedure
