What is the difference between mesotherapy and Kybella?

Mesotherapy refers to injections of medicine or drugs into the skin to treat a condition whereas Kybella is a specific injection of deoxcholic acid to dissolve fat under the chin... specifically the area below the chin. Kybella does work but it requires 2-6 treatments. I think that submental liposuction is a batter procedure because results are almost immediate and it only requires one treatment. In addition, the jawline can be treated and this will provide a youthful well contoured jawline as well as improvement to the submental region. 

Kybella is the first and only non-surgical treatment approved by the FDA for treating fullness under the chin (double chin). It is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options. Mesotherapy is a very effective method to target problem areas of fat and cellulite on your body by breaking down the fat cells and helping with skin elasticity. I recommend a combination approach with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is the best alternative for contouring the chin and can be performed with a neck lift, if you're a candidate. Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office.  I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable.  It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.

Kybella is the only FDA approved injectable treatment for submental fat. It has undergone several clinical trials to confirm its safety and efficacy and the treatment is relatively standardized. Mesotherapy, in my opinion, is not standardized and for this reason I believe that results are not consistent and reproducible.

Kybella is a brand-name deoxycholic acid that is used to melt fat by injecting it directly into the fat. This procedure is a mesotherapy procedure. There have been generic compounded deoxycholic acid to do this for many years, but Kybella is the only one to have undergone clinical trials and become FDA approved.
