Can anyone give a rough estimate/price range for chalazion removal or kenalog/steroid injection, without insurance? I live in Los Angeles and my doctor/insurance won’t provide treatment or removal because they said my lumps aren’t big enough. I’ve had the large one on my lower eyelid for 8 months, and smaller ones on my upper lids for the past year and a half. I want to remove the one on the lower lid the most. Would an oculoplastic surgeon be able to treat me? Is the size an issue? Thanks!

Answer: Please do not have surgery without first trying an injection.
Thank you for the question and the photos and though an examination is needed you are still early post op. That said based on the preop photos alone I would have repositioned fat and not removed any but aqain an examination is really needed.Dr. Corbin
Thank you for your question. I perform some upper eyelid surgery in the office under local anesthesia only in highly selected patients. There needs to be a skin excision only or removal of skin and a small amount of fat in a healthy patient without high blood pressure or other significant...
Swelling of the lid can cause the muscle inside to stretch. When this happens the lid can droop, called a ptosis. This has to be corrected surgically. See an oculoplastic surgeon who can evaluate your eyelid muscles and determine what surgery would be best for you.
