I developed a Hemotoma in my face. How long it will take to disappear? (photos)

I have an orbital fracture and nasal fracture. My face was swollen. The swelling has gone down but I developed a hematoma in my face. Under the eye next to my nose. It is about one inch or inch and a half. I am concerned that it will not go away and cause some asymmetry in my face. That area feels numb but not as numb as at the beginning. It also feels heavy and bothers me when I smile. The color of bruising is practically gone but I can feel the lump which has a hard and rubbery feeling.  What can i do to speed up the healing process ? Is it recommended to get it drained?

It's hard to tell from the picture whether or not you have a hematoma or bruising. Swelling and temporary numbness are common after trauma and resolve however it could take several weeks. If the infraorbital nerve below the eye is severed the numbness could be permanent. You stated that you had an orbital and nasal fracture. I assume that you know this from a maxilofacial CT scan that has been done. I would take your images and follow up with a facial plastic surgeon who can give you a detailed examination and ensure that you are healing normally and that you do not have a hematoma.

I recommend seeing a facial plastic surgeon or oculoplastic surgeon experienced in trauma ASAP. It is not normal to develop a hematoma and will take some time to recover.

Facial fractures will involve swelling bruising and sometimes hematomas.  It can also be difficult to differentiate between them especially if the fracture altered your cheekbone.  In general you should see a significant improvement by about 3 weeks.  Be sure to follow up with your plastic surgeon during that time frame.
