QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Would a breast lift be enough or do I need implants too? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
This is ultimately a choice of final volume and shape. If my patient feels they have enough volume now, I suggest a lift and let everything heal. When the post lift result is evaluated a second stage augmentation can further fulfill any volume needs decided upon.

Can I get away without having a lift? Or is my ptosis too severe? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
When I have a patient that is a possible lift candidate, I recommend that the decision to have a lift must be donfirmed. Whether the lift is done at the time of augmentation is your final dexidion, but I want my patients to at least be accepting of a lift postop if it becomes necessary, so that decision needs to be agreed-upon before we start any part of the process.

Would stretch marks prevent me from being a good candidate for liposuction? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Liposuction success is related to the ability of the skin to contract after the fat is removed. Your consult with a plastic surgeon is the best way to assess the "tone" of your skin to determine if you are a good candidate for lipo.

I developed a Hemotoma in my face. How long it will take to disappear? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Facial fractures will involve swelling bruising and sometimes hematomas. It can also be difficult to differentiate between them especially if the fracture altered your cheekbone. In general you should see a significant improvement by about 3 weeks. Be sure to follow up with your plastic surgeon during that time frame.

Don't want that big long scar, can this skin be tightened/removed through the belly button or other? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
I usually tell my patients that sometimes the trade off of significant improvements with abdominal contouring is a longer scar. As the amount of skin laxity increases the longer scar is often needed to distribute the tightening of the skin.

Tummy tuck surgery 5 hours under general anesthesia vs 3 hours? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Surgical time is sometimes an estimate and while the procedures can routinely follow certain time frames, it is important that the technique be finished safely and completely. That being said, some cases can take longer and discussion with your surgeon as to a time range may make you more comfortable. I certainly try to keep the shortest time that allows me to complete the work.

Am I a candidate for a full tummy tuck? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Given your history and apparent physical appearance, a full tummy tuck is an option. The full tuck allows all 3 components skin, fat and muscle to be addressed to help flatten and tighten the tummy. As always a consult with a plastic surgeon will help you to visualize the possibilities.

Breast Aug. for tuberous breasts? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Tuberous breasts can benefit from a breast augmentation with attention to pocket design that helps the breast tissue expand to redrape better over the implant. While some assymmetries will result postoperatively, beneficial improvements can help symmetry with overall contour.

Well Worth It! Made My Decision at 57 - Lombard, IL

After having twins, I had been wanting abdominoplasty for close to thirty years. Once reaching menopause, my loose tissue and muscles were terribly unsightly and becoming uncomfortable. At the age of fifty-seven, I made the decision to have the procedure done and I could not be happier with the results!
