What can I do about my lower lip that hangs very low? (Photos)

When I am asleep sitting up or very relaxed I find my lower lip hanging very low, to the point where my gums are visible it is quite embarrassing, I have a very long face & prominent chin. Also the length of skin from my lower lip to jaw is very deep.

Thanks for your question.  This can be a difficult problem to address and may have multiple contributing factors.  This may be the result of your upper and lower jaw configuration, nasal obstruction, weight of your lip tissue - I think an important first step would be to visit with a facial plastic surgeon or an oral maxillofacial surgeon.  This will help you with a comprehensive facial analysis and evaluation of your facial bone structure.  Again, this may be the answer to your lip.  If you ache nasal obstruction, treating this can help as well.best wishes.

All you really need is a little more volume to increase the shape of your lips and have them look higher and more in the shape of your lips.  I would recommend Juvederm for this purpose and it will take probably two syringes to help improve this area.  Best, Dr. Green
