I’ve had bad lip injections years ago and did dissolve the filler but was left with very bumpy upper lip and uneven lump where my Cupid bow is. Can a Kenalog shot flatten the bump and soften up the tissue?

Answer: Resolving lip filler issues If this is infact scarring then Kenalog injections may help. However, first any remaining filler should be removed. If an HA filler was used, it could be dissolved using hyaluronidase.

Answer: Lip scar tissue Thank you for your photo. The first step would be to remove any remaining filler with a hyaluronidase injection in the upper lip so that you can determine exactly what area is scar tissue vs remaining filler. After that, Kenalog/5 FU injections can be done into the remaining scar tissue to flatten out the appearance. You may require multiple small injections overtime to make sure there is no distortion of your lip shape. Hope this helps! Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
