I'm interesting in getting under eye filler. The dermatologist I went to recommended juvederm vollure. The benefits of this new HA filler are clear to me and I consider using it for NFL and around the mouth. However, I'm not sure it's suitable for under the eyes. Thank you
Answer: Filler options for under the eyes - tear troughs Hello,As panel members suggested, the best filler is one that your injector is the most comfortable with. Regardless of preference, only a smooth gel filler (hyaluronic acid filler) should be used in this delicate area. In our practice, we prefer Restylane for its predictability and nice outcomes. This tried and true gel filler is also priced better than newer gel fillers. Besides product choice, the technique and experience of the one performing the treatment is the most important factor. This is the most popular filler treatment for both men and women in our practice. Unlike one panel member's comment, we believe that this service is very rewarding, safe, and produces an appreciable and satisfying outcome for those patients that are good candidates. Please refer to the below link for more information and before/after photos.

Answer: Juvederm Vollure For Tear Troughs The choice of filler should be determined after an in-person consultation and evaluation. Depending on the amount of volume loss, in general smoother fillers such as Belotero, Volbella, and Restylane Silk work best under the eyes. If you have more volume loss then Restylane or Vollure may be appropriate. It's usually more about the skill of the injector than the filler used. I use microcannulas in this area to minimize the risk of complications. Make sure your injector is experienced in treating this area. Best wishes.

Answer: Improving Tear Trough -- Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk), Fraxel, Microneedling/PRP Each Doctor will have their preferred fillers and recommendations. Vollure is great for nasolabial folds and some Doctors use it off-label in other areas, but Volbella, Restylane, or Belotero are great fillers for tear troughs. Keep in mind, a combination approach will give the most improvement for tear troughs. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for your short and long term goals. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Treating the tear trough area The under eye area is delicate. The right choice of filler is really going to depend on your anatomy and isn't necessarily something that can be determined online. Vollure is an option as are Beletero or Restylane. Bottom line, do you trust your injector? If not, maybe it would be smart to get a second in person opinion. Best of luck.

Answer: Under eye filler Vollure is a great choice for the nasolabial folds, however is not my preference for the tear trough. Due to the eyelid skin being the thinnest skin on your body, I prefer a more silky and liquid filler to avoid discoloration and a puffy look. Options include Beletero or Restylane/Restylane Silk. Although it may seem more cost-effective to use a single filler for multiple parts of the face, a single filler type will not be appropriate for the wide variety of skin characteristics of the face. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Plastic Surgery
