I got 1ml of juvederm today and it seems to be moving more and more outside the line. It was injected outside to begin with which I was not happy with, went back few mins later for her to tell me it's completely fine and there is nothing wrong. The swelling is quite something. I told her I wanted a very full bottom lip.I figured if I called back tomorrow and need my bottom Lip a lot more fuller and why has it gone outside the border so much.
Answer: Swelling after Juvederm--Lip Augmentation with Fillers (Restylane, Juvederm) or Lip Implant or Fat You have swelling, which can last 1-2 weeks after lip injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Swelling after Juvederm Thank you for your question and for submitting your photos. The lips are a very sensitive area, and it's not uncommon to experience swelling for up to 2 weeks after any filler injections. Sometimes this swelling can be uneven, and can make the lips appear lopsided or asymmetric. It's impossible to assess what your final results will be until your swelling have fully subsided. For now, I would suggest gently applying ice or cool compresses to your lips. Please follow-up with your injector if your swelling persists, or if you have any concerns - sometimes, your injector can prescribe medications like a short course of oral steroids to help your swelling resolve sooner. If you are still unhappy with the results of your injections after the swelling has subsided, Juvederm can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Best of luck!

Answer: Lip swelling following filler augmentation I understand that the swelling/ bruising following lip augmentation can be distressing, but this is normal and to be expected. Some patients experience more swelling/ bruising than others. At this point, give things a couple weeks for the swelling to resolve and the product to settle. Return to your injecting physician at that time to re-evaluate and touch up if need be (or dissolve it if you absolutely hate it). Your top lip may be a little over injected, but without seeing before and immediate after photos, I can't accurately state this as fact. Only time will tell. As always, be sure you see a board certified core injector for cosmetic injections (facial plastic surgeon, dermatologist, or plastic surgeon). Hang in there!

Answer: Juvederm Filler Injected Outside Lip Line Thank you for sharing your photos and concerns. Lip swelling is normal after a hydrophilic filler such as #Juvederm. Your cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon may consider utilizing Lasix to rapidly reduce your significant lip edema. Otherwise, it may take 2-4 weeks for the swelling to resolve so you can visualize the "final" results. The good news is hyaluronic acid fillers (#Juvederm, #Voluma, #Vollure, #Vobella, #Restylane, #Belotero) can be removed with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. I recommend waiting until the swelling resolves before considering removing or adding any additional filler. In the meantime, please revisit your expert cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon for evaluation. Best of luck,Suneel Chilukuri, M.D.Houston, Texas

Answer: Lip augmentation The way you look now does not represent the final result. You must give yourself at least one maybe even two weeks for the swelling to come down. If you're not happy then, you should address the issue with your injector. Good luck from New York City
