In my opinion, IPL and radio frequency can improve rosacea. As with any other procedure, it is the physician that is utilizing the device that is most important. Radio frequency and IPL devices need a expert physician to perform the treatment most effectively. Find a experienced dermatologist who was willing to show you before and after pictures.
Thank you for your question. I suggest you follow up with your provider. Always see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist. Best of luck.
This needs an in-person evaluation. I recommend getting a following up with a cosmetic dermatologist. For rosacea, I like a combination using lasers (ProYellow, Pulsed Dye/Vbeam, Excel V, Clear + Brilliant), peels and botox to the cheeks. This makes dramatic changes in color and symptoms. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Hi rjerks,Thanks for your question. The most sophisticated approach to treating rosacea with IPL is in fact Broad band Light by Sciton. It is one of the vascular lasers that has a long history of success ,worldwide and at our clinic, to treat redness, rosacea, facial veins..etc. However, a laser does not give you results. A physician using the proper parameters and personalizing the treatment specifically to your skin concerns and skin condition is what is going to give you positive outcomes. Research a physician who can show you before and after photos of her/his own patients. Best of luck, Manish Khanna MD, FRCPC
IPL is probably the gold standard for rosacea along with a good skin care regimen that includes sun protection. This treatment in my experience works better than any oral medication or topicals alone. Keep in mind this is a chronic condition requiring chronic maintenance for pronlonged results. It may be combined with sublative radiofrequency for acne scars or reduction of large pores.
We use IPL for rosacea and get excellent results. I agree with Dr. Rapaport's answer here that you want an experienced operator doing your treatment, and start with lower energy levels to prevent adverse reactions. I personally suffer from rosacea and get regular IPL treatments (about twice a year), and if you look at photos of me from 6 years ago - before I started - my face was much redder, and looks much better now, 6 years later. So in my personal experience IPL is one of the best treatments available for rosacea. It is also crucial to wear sunscreen CONSTANTLY, so don't forget your SPF! Hope you are as happy with your IPL as we are! -Dr. Jenny
Any device or chemical reaction that heats up your skin can make rosacea worse- this even includes V BEAM or vascular lasers, aimed at treating rosacea. The sequential use and timing of RF and IPL is critical for getting a good result. Most dermatologist will use vascular lasers over IPL for rosacea management, acknowledging there is a group of patients where by IPL works better than laser. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane laser dermatologist.
No, not a normal reaction. This can be due to a few conditions including irritant or contact dermatitis, clogged pores, and epidermal changes due to the IPL. Really can not give you a firm diagnosis, however this is NOT a normal reaction following IPL. We really do need more history from you to...
How specialist approach skin rejuvenation is to examine your skin and come up with a bespoke treatment plan. The combinations are infinite providing one has the correct equipment. I do combine RF in patients either INFINI or INTENSIF, with many laser including Fraxel, CO2, Pico and even IPL. ...
