My lips split open sort of deep and like one side of my lip is more repositioned up. What treatment do you recommend? (photos)

Popcornn:  One week is way too early to determine how the wound will heal. Wait a minimum of six months, then evaluate the scar. If you are unhappy with the appearance at that time then I would recommend you seek consultation for scar revision which is actually a pretty minor procedure. Good luck!

At one week, swelling from the initial trauma is very likely to make the injured site look lumpy and uneven.  For now, allow more time for the swelling to resolve.  If you feel firm scar tissue within the lip at 3-4 weeks after injury, seek out an experienced plastic surgeon or dermatologist for evaluation and possible steroid injection.  I commonly inject a combination of the steroid kenalog and another medication called 5-fluorouracil for surgical and traumatic scars in my practice; such injections can soften and flatten scars very nicely.

Dear PopcornI know how frustrating it is to watch something on your face heal slowly.  On the inside the tissues are still swollen and repair is ongoing.  It will take 6 to 12 months to see the final result.  I have seen many situations like this work out just fine in the end.  But if you are still concerned about the appearance at 6 months or greater, see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who can discuss scar revision with you.
