I had an eMatrix laser treatment done on Nov 29th and it’s STILL RED. Is this permanent? (photo)

This continued redness and bumpiness, is not typical of a standard treatment with eMatrix fractionated radiofrequency. In fact, I have been performing this treatment for over 10 years, and I have never seen someone have any residual evidence of the treatment beyond 5 days. Usually, the bumps start resolving within 48 hours with the redness going away first and then the bumps becoming a little rough and sometimes mildly scabbed. 
Perhaps they used some sort of topical in conjunction with the session that is causing a prolonged reaction? 
I would definitely follow up with them and then if they continue to put you off, I would seek out a second opinion locally from either a dermatologist or another physician who does the ematrix treatments.

The redness that is prolonged is NOT an allergic reaction to radio frequency energy- simply can not happen. Rather than saying one is red from the treatment the approach should be medically based. RF with eMatrix uses conservative energy - most treatments range from 30mj per pin all the way to high level 100 mj in Australia. I think the US maybe limited to 50 mj and 80 mj in some States. Question is - what was the energy used? How many passes? Was there a history that was taken before eMatrix- namely history of rosacea, seb derm , atopy, constitutional flushing and blushing ? Product use- allergic vs irritant contact dermatitis? Post op care- banal or potential ACD with the emollients etc..etc..Sunscreen use. Then proceed to examine- papules of rosacea? Diameter of blood vessels - visible teles vs intermittent erythema. Once diagnosis has been established- treat and target accordingly. Vascular lasers- VBeam , Excel V, or even long pulse 1064 Nd Yag ie. Laser Genesis. IPL or BBL can be used. Finding the diagnosis is important as this will lead to resolution.
