Question

I have a lot of stubborn acne scars (rolling&boxcar) and am trying to treat them w/ Ematrix sublative laser. But, any time I do a procedure, I get these white almost blisters where the grid pattern is for about 2 days post op. Is this normal or am I causing more damage than good getting this done? Is there something I should put on it/take? It really doesn’t bother me (no pain and I know it goes away) but I really don’t want my skin to look worse in the long run if this isnt supposed to happen.

A combination approach will give the most improvement. These types of scars need a combination of lasers, Cosmelan, microneedling/prp, subcision and fillers. Co2 is the best laser for scars, but Erbium is a great alternative. It may take a series of treatments and may need some treatments to maintain. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an acne scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

This is not a laser but RF energy - grids are normal following this procedure, depending on the treatment passes, contact, your skin type and mj Per Pin power. What is not normal are these white pustules. They may indicate a candida infection, staph, or another bacterial - viral infection. You do need wound care and swabs.
