After the rhinoplasty i have noticed that under my left eye,under the tear doctu i have a prominence that is hard like bone...the doctor told me that it will get smaller when the swelling goes down..but i wanna know if it will disappear and why is there so far from the nose? Just under the eye? Today is 1 month after my surgery thank you

Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Hard prominence under the most medial part of your eye is likely from osteotomy. When we break the nasal bone during the surgery to make it smaller or narrower sometimes the superior edge appears sharp and prominent. In mild cases as the bone heals the prominence and sharpness goes away during the healing process. If not, in the future it is a small procedure to break the prominence and make it smooth.
