Being a breast cancer survivor and had a double mastectomy was mentally and physically challenging. However, Dr. Galiano and staff gave me back my confidence and made me whole as I was prior to my diagnosis and surgery. My breasts have projection along with fat transfer to the breast which does not reveal the implant as would in most cases. DR. Galiano did a phenomenal job and his expertise is to be recognizably accurate with breast cancer reconstruction. Although, I will be returning for a second procedure, filling in the other breast as can be expected in most cases of bilateral mastectomies.
Dr. Galiano has a great eye for detail and gave me my confidence back. I've had trouble breathing all my life and he approached my rhinoplasty with that in mind while also providing a great aesthetic improvement. I had a previous chin augmentation done by a different doctor and he suggested redoing it with a concurrent jaw implant to bring more balance and harmony to my face. I was hesitant at first since that would be three dramatic alteration to my face but in hindsight I'm glad I took his advice. I would recommend him to anyone looking to bring a more natural look to their face.
I have wanted my boobs bigger since I was young, so once I had the money saved, I knew I was ready. After doing extensive research on procedures and surgeons, I booked With Doctor Galiano. I appreciated that Dr. Galiano's game plan is specific to you & your body, and the look you want to achieve. He does have you pick a cc size prior to surgery, but instead has you find your "dream look" picture that you want to achieve that he refers too during surgery with using sizers. He does not give you a range of cc's that you have to decide on prior to surgery and explains that he puts that decision on himself because he should be the one that decides seeing he is the expert in helping you achieve the look you are going for. He does not want you as the patient to have to make a decision on a cc that you are not qualified to make seeing we are not the plastic surgeons. He also provided me with extensive information and reasoning for why people should at least consider going over the muscle rather than just going with what "everyone does" by going over the muscle. He ensures you understand your options and does not pressure you one way or the other- but just tries to talk about over the muscle considering the majority of people go under just because they think that is the only way for a natural look. He explains that under the muscle technique became a thing when saline was the more popular choice. But now that most people consider silicone, people should also consider going over the muscle as it still results in a very natural look, without having to worry about animation deformity or bottoming out - along with faster healing. I was confident with my choice of going over the muscle because of the time and information he shared with me on the topic, along with my research done on my own time. You can not see my implant and I am SO happy I listened to my doctor rather than go with what I "thought" was what I should do. Overall, Dr. Galiano was incredible and made the whole experience very stress free and comfortable. I am only two weeks post op but I am loving my results so far and excited to continue healing. I went with 300ccs and will be a full C.
Dr. Galiano and his staff are some of the most incredible people that I know. They have all taken the time to make me feel comfortable in my own skin and are always willing to answer questions, not just days that I have appointments, but when I think of them while I am at home as well.Dr. Galiano has made me gain so much more confidence both times I have had my breast augmentation 8 years apart. Both times I healed to perfection. I just had my recent surgery around 6 weeks ago and I tell you, I didn't even feel like I had had the surgery.Recovery was smooth and so easy for me. One thing that I want to express about Dr. Galiano is that he does not treat his patients like he is above them. He comes in with a smile on his face each time and sits down beside you and is always at your level or even a little lower. This has always made me feel like I am his equal and I think that the way he does this is amazing.Dr. Galiano also works at your own pace and will do anything he can to make you feel welcome and love who you are. I highly recommend him and his staff. You will not be disappointed.
Dr Galiano is patient, pleasant and straight forward. I had multiple consultations with him to make sure I felt comfortable before moving forward. When it came time for my surgery I was nervous of course but I knew I was in good hands at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. My end results are not perfect but as he explained to me beforehand, surgery results depend on multiple factors such as time and how an individual's body will heal. Thankfully I was not expecting perfection and I believe my realistic expectations helped me to enjoy my overall good result. The only small critique I would mention is that at some point relatively early on in my healing process I went in for a check up, I mentioned that I noticed my nose was visually "pulling" in one direction. Dr Galiano essentially told me not to worry about it because it was still healing. Dr Galiano is a very experienced Doctor so it's understandable that he would feel confident in what I felt was somewhat dismissive advise. In hindsight I wish I would have been more assertive and trusted my gut, maybe I could have positively influenced the pulling since it was early in the healing process. Overall my nose looks better than before I had surgery and I feel confident in my own skin now. I would recommend Dr Galiano to anyone and if I ever decided to have another procedure done I will be booking another consultation with him.
Dr. Galiano is amazing! The whole experience from the consultation to the post opp visits have been productive with no problems. His results were so amazing on the NSFW before and after pics that I had two people ask me for his contact information. I had a breast reduction and the nipple placement is even and the breasts are the same size. I couldn’t ask for better results.
I just saw my before and after pics and I am thoroughly satisfied! I was beyond nervous prior to my procedure, so I went in for my final consultation prior to with a list of questions for him to answer. He politely sat down and and clearly went over all my questions and concerns. The day of the surgery, all the hospital staff was wonderful. After being given the “sleepy medicine”, I remember being told to breathe 5 times into the mask. Next thing I knew, I was waking up asking the nurse if I had the surgery already! The only difficulty I had was figuring out the pain control as far as what would work for me. It’s been 5 weeks since my procedure and my incision scar is healing nicely. The only issue I had was my belly button didn’t take to the grafting well since they couldn’t save my own. So I was put on Santyl and that has healed my belly button wound well. Overall, I am very pleased with Dr. Galiano and I recommend him to anyone looking to have this procedure done. His bedside manners and the fact that he’s a part of Northwestern Hospital helps to ease your mind when going through this.
Reading everyone’s journey has helped immensely so I figure I’ll journal my own. I’ve been wanting a reduction for years. After having a hormonal IUD for a year, my weight skyrocketed, mostly in my breasts and hips. Even after removing my IUD, the weight just wouldnt budge. I went from wearing a 32D to 32I (thats 6 D’s... wtf). I hate it. I hate looking like a balloon in anything thats not extremely form fitting, and I hate the male gaze when I do wear fitted clothes. My back constantly hurts, I have tension headaches all the time. I just want to wear whatever I want, and be pain free. I’m only 5’2 and i swear my tiddies take up my entire torso. Let me have a snatched waist without it being overshadowed by these extra large fat sacks, PLEASE. After getting some top notch insurance thru a new job, I visited a PS for a consultation and he was extremely condescending and rude. Told me I would never be happy going so small, and that my insurance would never approve me. I waited months to hear back, and when I finally followed up, I found out he never even bothered to submit to my insurance. I checked in with his clinics insurance guy, and he was equally belittling. Told me they didnt submit to insurance for my own good because he was “confident” I wouldn’t like having such small breasts. What is it with old white men being so sure about what a woman wants when the woman is right there verbalizing her truth? It was extremely discouraging and made me feel like what I wanted was impossible. A month or so after that, I decided to try again. I visited Dr. Galiano at NW. A complete 180. This guy was so reassuring, told me my goal size was totally attainable and would even help my chances of getting approved. He set a follow up appt for a month later and told me that by then I’d either be approved or denied, and if a denial was on the table, the follow up would be to discuss the appeal process and out of pocket costs if necessary. An actual game plan, sick. Two weeks after my initial consultation with him, his nurse called and let me know I was approved. I legit ran to the bathroom at work and ugly cried. I don’t cry often, so that’s how serious it was. I was so happy! Another few weeks passed until my follow up. That was on 6/17/19. His nurse gave me my prescriptions (antibiotics, nausea meds, pain meds, etc) and we set the actual surgery date for 3 weeks from now, on 7/9/19. We could have even done it 7/2/19 (so soon!) but I had too much going on that week. It’s crazy how quick and easy the process has been in the last month-ish. 20 days from now I’ll finally be flat-chested (hopefully) and feeling lighter, cuter, happier with my body. Updated on 9 Jul 2019: *sorry for the awkwardly blurred photo, i have a lot of tattoos i wanted to cover up* today was my surgery and it went so well! the toughest part was the 4 attempts to get the iv going as my veins were playing hard to get, lol. the doctor took my wishes to go as small as possible seriously, and im so happy. id like to go even smaller but know that wasnt realistic at a 32g(uk)/32i(us). he did some lipo on the sides (not too far out, just next to my breast tissue) so that my scars dont extend way far out from under my breasts. he did the anchor technique. i was passed out by the time i got to the operating room, and woke up within the first hour that the surgery was over. got discharged the hour after. the norco they gave me did a wonderful job at managing the pain as i was up and about immediately. the friend who drove me home even took us to a diner for milkshakes before going to my house. when i got home i was even able to carry a package up all 3 flights up stair and assemble a small/lightweight bookcase, lol. afraid of over exerting myself, i took a nap for most of the day after staring at myself in the mirror for on and off for a few ours lol. i included a before and after. the before, in the white tee, im wearing a 32i bra with underwire made out of extreeeemely thin material and NO padding or lining whatsoever. thats all tiddy. the second photo in the tank top, im wearing no bra but several layer of thick gauze and bandaging - im even smaller underneath! i have a waist! and my torso isnt entirely covered by my breasts! its crazy how much lighter and happier i feel. i love the way i look, and am able to admire my body without the intense feelings of dysphoria ive dealt with for years. im hoping the rest of my recovery goes as smoothly as today has been.
I first went to Dr. Galiano for breast augmentation 8 years ago. I loved the natural results he provided. Always professional, caring, and gave me exactly what I was looking for. I just had my breasts redone and a rhinoplasty to remove a bump from an accident. I’m only 3 weeks out and couldn’t be happier! He delivered more than what I expected and I am so happy! He is truly a wonderful doctor and I would never see anyone else.
I'm 13 weeks out of TT and Lipo on my back. This is the second surgery Dr. Galiano performed on me. The results are incredible. I had 0 complications and a flat stomach! Once again, Dr. Galiano and his team went above and beyond my expectations!! Sarah as always, was very attentive and available to address any concern. Dr. Galiano is truly great!
First of all, you did nothing "wrong!" Pregnancy and breastfeeding can cause many changes to your breasts - your breast tissue is dynamic and changes over time. Implants are more static - in most cases, they stay put and don't move and migrate in their pocket. What happened is your breast tissue and breast skin enlarged and stretched during your pregnancy; if you breastfed, this also contributed. Now that your breast tissue is returning to its pre-pregnancy size, the stretched skin is now drooping and this produces the "Snoopy" or "waterfall" deformity you see, where the breast tissue and skin falls past the implants, which stay in place. Please go see your original surgeon and discuss your situation. You will need a breast lift (mastopexy) to reposition your breast tissue, elevate your nipples, and remove some of the redundant skin. Any surgery will have to be done after you are breastfeeding however. I am certain you will achieve a lovely result. Best of luck, stay safe, and enjoy your time as a mom!
It is certainly true that it is more challenging to improve tip definition in patients with thick skin, and it is important to have realistic expectations of what can be achieved. Patients can have thick skin because of ethnic and genetic factors, and there are also patients who have thick skin because of inflammatory conditions such as acne. In your case, it seems that your acne may be contributing to the thick skin in your nasal tip. Before embarking on a rhinoplasty, it would be prudent to ensure that your acne is controlled as much as possible, and I usually partner with my dermatology colleagues and my aesthetician to make sure this is the case. It may take 6 months to a year to improve the acne. However, once controlled, there are techniques that can be done to safely thin the skin, particularly in the nasal tip, in a safe and effective way that will give you the best chance of having a more defined tip after a rhinoplasty. This goes along with providing sufficient structural support to the underlying cartilages. I wish you well!
It does look like you have a classic pollybeak deformity. It would be ideal if you could post "before" pictures of your rhinoplasty, to get a better sense of how this came about, but it is not uncommon. It seems to me you may have had your dorsum reduced a bit excessively, but this is something a "before" picture would be necessary to diagnose. Regardless, successful correction does not involve rasping, since the supratip fullness is not caused by excess bone. A revision rhinoplasty would be needed to correct this. I would relay your concerns to your original surgeon, but it probably would be beneficial to obtain a second opinion and see if the plan for correction makes sense. Every surgeon who performs rhinoplasties has patients who require touch-ups or even full revisions, you just need to make sure that you are comfortable with the explanation of what might have happened and how it can be corrected. In my practice about 1/4 of the new patients I see are for revision procedures from surgeries done elsewhere. The good news is that usually this can be corrected. Good luck!
The reason your doctor told you you were not a candidate for a tummy tuck is that you have a rather high-positioned umbilicus relative to the rest of your torso. Your babies really stretched out your lower abdomen and most of your redundant skin is below the umbilicus but you do not have a lot of skin above. The position of your umbilicus and the lack of a lot of lax redundant skin above the umbilicus is why some surgeons would hesitate to perform a full abdominoplasty on you. I disagree with surgeons who say you are a candidate for a mini tummy tuck - you have too much extra skin for that. I think your best option is to have a full tummy tuck. The scar can be placed low and hidden by your underwear or swimsuit. You would have a vertical component to the incision, but this is a better option than putting your scar higher on your abdomen. In my practice, I am able to cut out that vertical scar with a small procedure under local anesthesia in the office a year later, since the skin will stretch a bit after the first year. So, I see no reason why you can't achieve your dream of having a flat tummy - good luck with your procedure!
It is not uncommon to have issues with rib cartilage positioning after dorsal augmentation rhinoplasty. There are a variety of reasons for this, which is why many surgeons no longer augment noses with carved cartilage (which is what you appear to have had) and instead use diced cartilage grafts wrapped in fascia. These are (in my hands) easier to mold, contour better to the nose, and early on during healing can be reshaped a bit if there seems to be some asymmetry. Although going in 6 weeks after surgery is certainly not ideal, it can be done but there is going to be quite a bit of scar tissue that will make the dissection more difficult. Cartilage has "memory" and it is possible that it is curving on its own, in which case no amount of repositioning is going to help the curved appearance of your nose. Only your surgeon can determine this - but if this is the reason for the "shifting" of your graft, then I would recommend that he or she instead use a diced cartilage graft. Good luck!
